"Wherever you are, be all there"
When a man's life is an expedition, his family is no longer left behind at Base Camp while he makes a climb all by himself. Instead, his wife and children are participants accompanying him on a journey together. "Wherever you are, be all there," says missionary Jim Elliot. "Live to the hilt every situation you believe to be the will of God." When a man follows Elliot's challenge to "live to the hilt" in every calling of his life, then his home responsibilities no longer compete with his adventure; they help fulfill it.
