Watch Greg Boyd on CNN TONIGHT

More information about Gregory A. Boyd More information about Myth of a Christian Nation Arguing from Scripture and history in The Myth of a Christian Nation, Dr. Greg Boyd makes a compelling case that whenever the church gets too close to any political or national ideology, it is disastrous for the church and harmful to society. Dr. Boyd contends that the American Evangelical Church has allowed itself to be co-opted by the political right (and some by the political left) and exposes how this is harming the church's unique calling to build the kingdom of God. In the course of his argument, Dr. Boyd challenges some of the most deeply held convictions of evangelical Christians in America -– for example, that America is, or ever was, "a Christian nation" or that Christians ought to be trying to “take America back for God." Dr. Boyd will be featured tonight (9 p.m. ET) on CNN's special report God's Warrior's (click for a preview).

You can't take it with you....

The hearse promoting When the Game Is Over, It All Goes Back in the Box
John Ortberg The above hearse is going on tour today through August 17 to draw attention to John Ortberg's just released book When the Game Is Over, It All Goes Back in the Box. It came to Zondervan's headquarters this morning, where it dramatically reminded us about the 'game of life,' our mortality, and what really matters.

The hearse is heading for Chicago later today for a stop at Moody Bible Institute. Be sure to see the tour schedule and see if it's coming to your city -- go to www.johnortberg.com. We're working with Bennett Funeral Coaches in conjunction with this tour - see its website at www.hearse.com.When the Game Is Over, It All Goes Back in the Box In case you're wondering, every item loaded on top is individually placed there and simply tied down. If you see the hearse on the highway, please wave to the driver! And if you take a picture of it, send it attached to an email to zondervan_flickr@yahoo.com and we'll post it to our Flickr site (www.flickr.com/photos/zondervan).

Here's the description of John's new book: A promotion. A new house. The rewards of winning at life’s game can be thrilling. But eventually everything goes back into the box, and what ultimately matters is whether we’ve played according to God’s rules. John Ortberg uses popular games and his trademark gift of storytelling to help us live our lives for the things that really count.
