Rob Bell lives with his family in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he’s the founding pastor of Mars Hill Bible Church. He also teaches in a short film format called NOOMA, and his first books are Velvet Elvis: Repainting the Christian Faith and Sex God: Exploring the Endless Connections Between Sexuality and Spirituality.

We Need Volunteers!

We’re looking for a few good folks who enjoy long days, hard work, community, and serving others by volunteering for the 2009 National Pastors Convention on February 10th-13th, 2009 in sunny San Diego.  It’s a great way to get to know other people in ministry, serve, and go to the convention for FREE!  We’re in need of volunteers to serve in the following ways: Main Stage, NPC Store/Order-Taking, Information Center, Registration (full-time and part-time), Set-up/Tear-down, and Spanish Translators.

Meet Ruth Haley Barton: Coming to NPC 2009!

Ruth Haley Barton is a spiritual director, teacher, and retreat leader trained through the Shalem Institute for Spiritual Formation and the Pathways Center for Spiritual Leadership in Nashville, Tennessee. Ruth is cofounder of The Transforming Center. She is also the author of several books including Sacred Rhythms, Invitation to Solitude and Silence, and Strengthening the Soul of Your Leadership.

CNN covers the Jesus for President tour!

PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania (CNN) -- They're spiritual misfits. Rabble-rousers. They packed the shell of the old Baptist church on Negley Avenue in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to hear author, Christian activist and fellow misfit Shane Claiborne stump on the campaign for a third party candidate, Jesus.

People pack churches to hear Shane Claiborne talk about "Jesus for President," the book he co-authored.

The dreadlocked Christian activist from Philadelphia and his team parked a black school bus around the back. The hand-painted gold letters on the side read "Jesus for President."
